According to the General Department of Customs, in March alone, the export volume of iron and steel of all kinds reached over 1.23 million tons, worth more than $ 899 million, up 64.6% in volume and 66.4% in volume. in value over the previous month.
 
Generally, in the first quarter of 2021, this commodity exported more than 2.9 million USD, worth 2.04 billion USD, increased 44.7% in volume and 85% in value over the same period last year.
 
In the past 3 months, China is still the largest importer of iron and steel in Vietnam with more than 571.5 thousand tons, worth over 298.8 million USD.
 
Next is Cambodia market with more than 367.6 thousand tons, worth more than 240 million USD; Thai market with more than 159.7 thousand tons, worth more than 116.2 million USD; ...
 
In 2021, the Vietnamese steel industry sets a production growth target of 4-6%. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in the first quarter, crude steel production; rolled steel increased by 14.4%; 54% over the same period last year; only bar and angle steel decreased by 1.6%.
 
It is forecasted that in 2021, the steel industry will grow well thanks to the benefits from boosting public investment as well as the housing real estate market may heat up again. This will have a positive impact to help the steel industry achieve high growth this year.
